Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Diald Club ("Diald", "the app", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Diald iOS app and website. By using Diald, you agree to the practices described below.

Information we collect

  • Account information. When you create an account we store your email address and, optionally, profile details such as your display name. Authentication is handled by Supabase and may use email, Apple, or Google sign-in.
  • Your coffee content. The beans, brew sessions, brew steps, ratios, temperatures, timings, ratings, tasting notes, reminders, and related settings you add are stored so they can sync across your devices.
  • Device tokens. If you enable push notifications we store an Apple Push Notification service token so we can send brew reminders and related app notifications.
  • Subscription information. If you subscribe to Supporter Monthly, Apple handles payment. We store subscription entitlement status and transaction identifiers needed to unlock paid features and keep access in sync.
  • AI provider settings. If you use AI analysis, your OpenAI or Anthropic API key is stored on your device in the iOS keychain. It is not stored on our servers.

How we use your information

  • To provide the app's core features: logging brews, managing beans, saving recipes and steps, generating stats, syncing data, and reminding you to brew.
  • To manage account access, password reset flows, sign-in providers, subscription entitlement, and account deletion requests.
  • To send notifications you have opted into.
  • To maintain, secure, debug, and improve the service.

AI analysis

AI analysis is optional. When you run an analysis, the brew data selected by your filters is sent from your device to the AI provider you chose, currently OpenAI or Anthropic, using your own API key. Provider use is governed by that provider's terms and privacy policy.

How your information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only in the following circumstances:

  • With service providers. We use Supabase for authentication and app data storage, Apple services for purchases and notifications, and your selected AI provider only when you choose to run AI analysis.
  • When required by law. We may disclose information if required to do so by law or valid legal process.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete beans, brews, reminders, and other content from within the app where those controls are available. When you delete your account, your associated account data is removed from our systems.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections, Supabase row-level security, Apple Keychain storage for AI provider keys, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To delete your account or make a request, use the in-app account deletion flow or contact us using the details below.

Children's privacy

Diald is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
